About Us

Tyler and Tyrell first met at Barry University while matriculating through their Master's Program. They both recognized a need for more updated information and mentorship about the dental school process and decided to document their journey. As the weeks went on the idea that started as a hobby slowly but surely transformed into a platform for all to learn about the dental school experience while also receiving tips and tricks on how to get into dental school!

BIO

Tyler Brown

Tyler Brown is a fourth-year dental student at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. He graduated from Howard University in 2015 with a bachelor's degree in Health Care Management. After undergrad, he served as the Program Coordinator for the Smiles Across America Program at Oral Health America in Chicago. Following his tenure in Chicago, he received his master's degree in Biomedical Sciences from Barry University in Miami, FL. Tyler also has had the opportunity to travel with Tufts to Peru for a Global Service Learning Trip where he and a group of students were able to provide dental services to rural communities. Tyler is excited to continue to develop his clinical skills as well as continue finding innovative ways to promote oral health and leverage social media to educate the world.

Tyrell Fridie

Tyrell Fridie is a fourth-year dental student at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. In 2013, earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA and later obtained his master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from Barry University in 2017. During his time away from school he traveled abroad to experience othercultures, which he says was, “One of the best decisions he’s ever made”. Constantly exploring new artistic and creative avenues, Tyrell looks for innovative ways to inspire, to connect with and build community.  With a growing passion for mindfulness and mediation, as well as holistic health, he aims to infuse these elements into his practice as a future dentist.
